4/19 DC/MD/VA Weather Outlook

Wow is it nice and warm. Too not get too used to it based on a change this weekend.  Thunderstorm threat increases tomorrow evening and overnight. Cooler conditions start to arrive Thursday but really make their presence known this weekend. Not convinced, but highest elevations of far western Virginia **COULD** see snow flurries this weekend. Next week we slowly warm.

Summary: I have been busy! Busy updating http://www/midatlanticweather.com and just busy in life. If you have not visited in a while please do. If people are wondering why I am writing about my website because they are reading this on the web site, you may not know that I email this discussion when I can. It is warm. The Pollen is really on the increase and if you did not know, northern VA is highest in Maple Birch and Elm whereas Richmond and Southern VA is highest in Oak, birch, and Grasses. I HOPEFULLY will get a health section up on Mid Atlantic Weather that will link to Pollen.com. Anyways, besides accumulating pollen, we will be dry until tomorrow afternoon as a front sags through the area. This will be preceded by very warm conditions with highs reaching the upper 80s for many! Yes, upper 80s! the humidity will be high too. Pollen washing showers and thunderstorms will arrive late in the day and then Thursday we still remain above normal until Friday when we go normal in temperatures. The weekend looks cool. A chance of showers and thunderstorms persists in the south through Saturday, whereas the North may be dry Thursday afternoon and definitely Friday. Saturday will present a chance of showers and thunderstorms statewide, and yes, as I mentioned, the highest western facing slopes of the Appalachians *MAY** see a flurry or more. There is a chance again that temperatures could get cold enough for Freezing or Frost so stay alert if you are planting or have tender vegetation. Temperastures look very close to normal with another chance of showers and thunderstorms next Tuesday timeframe.

Cooler weather has settled in from a back door cold front. As a disturbance moves along the front today we should see an increasing chance of rain, especially in the south. Cool weather will slowly give way to more seasonal temperatures this weekend and then we look to head slightly above normal for temperatures about mid next week.

Summary: A cold high pressure system has nosed down the eastern side of the Appalachian mountains making it much cooler. Temperatures in the 50s and nighttime lows in the 30s have been common in the Northern third of the area. Rain has overspread the southern third of the area, but is having a hard time overcoming cool dry air in place in the north. Had it been a few months ago, snow would be in the forecast somewhere! Slowly the temperatures recover this weekend and things look nice and sunny now with temperatures starting below normal but near normal by Monday!

4/5 DC/MD/VA Weather Outlook

Finally back! I apologize to all as I have been battling a bad cold. Clear Warm weather the next 2 days. Thursday will see an increase in moisture with a chance of thunderstorms and rain that will last into Friday. The weekend looks clear, but cooler.
