8/17 Weather Outlook
Working to get back to issuing these daily as the new
blogging interface allows an email to update my site.
I hope these outlooks will become a more regular
occurrence!
The weather starts off great today. Temps will be in
the mid 80s with some humidity beginning to be felt as
winds will begin their shift to the south. Can't rule
out isolated, bay/ocean induced convection or even
highland induced convection, but isolated will be the
case!
Tomorrow there is a chance that parts of the region
will see severe weather (
http://www.midatlanticweather.com/severe )so please
take note of this and an alert may be issued
concerning this. Highs will be in the mid to upper
80's and the humidity will be back!
Thursday and Friday will be similar to tomorrow, with
afternoon and evening thunderstorms possible.
The weekend could be really stormy as we have three
factors to deal with.
1. A strong front from Canada which on the other side
is extremely, and unseasonably cool (There could be
frost in parts of the Northeastern US this weekend!)
2. That front will stall in our region (actually there
are 2 fronts. One to the north holding up the really
chilly air, and the secondary which will get stuck on
us)
3. The remnants of Earl which may have a chance to get
entrained into the stalled front.
Much uncertainty remains as to how much precip we get
this weekend, but the factors above will need to be
monitored as severe weather and flooding rains may
need to be forecasted.
All for now!
