Irene intensified this evening and is in rapid growth mode. Irene is likely to be a Category 3 or higher when she makes landfall. As of now, the SC/NC border looks like a close call for where she will come on shore. Then she will track through the Mid Atlantic, at least based on current model output! There will be some time to watch exact tracks, and areas in the Carolinas will be affected Thursday, then the central Mid Atlantic Friday, and then New England Saturday into Sunday.
This is a serious Hurricane. The Bahamas are likely to be seriously impacted. It is time to pray and prepare! This could be very bad!
