Rain is coming - will make its way over the area the next 24 hours
Heat will return next week with highs in the 90 to 95 degree level. After the rains and storms pass through the next 24 to 36 hours the next chance at some thunderstorms will be Tuesday Wednesday, and Thursday but this will be the typical summer time risk of storms and nothing too organized.
The tropics have a couple areas of interest and they could develop. Next system would be names Colin.
I am hoping to be more active on posting as work and life get in better alignment!
All for now!

Very Hot today! Severe possible! Relief coming
Severe storms are a definite possibility as a front that promises lower humidity and about 10 degrees cooler! That is going to be such a welcome relief! Please stay safe today from the heat and also keep tuned in for possible severe storm watches and warnings!
More later!

Do I really need to tell you what the weather is?
A Front will approach and cross the area tomorrow and tomorrow night. I will say though, that this will not limit the heat as much as you would hope! There is a risk of strong and severe storms as the front moves through. We will *COOL* to the 90 to 95 degree range by Monday. Not really cool, but we will also see less humidity. Next week temps will be in the 90 to 95. After Sunday's storms, another set of storms will be Wednesday.
Bonnie is pretty much fizzled out. The system has just collapsed. This is nothing compared to the serious rainfall up in Chicago with 4 to 6 inches of rain. That was after Wisconsin was slammed yesterday with 4 to 7 inches of rain.
Also of note, a tornado warning was issued for New York City yesterday with a storm that moved through. The Northeast Quadrant caught some great videos and posted them as well as was on YouTube and was interviewed on the Weather Channel this morning. Way to go!

Heat is relentless and hotter! Bonnie!
100 to 105 range today and tomorrow. With the humidity we could see
heat index values hit the 110 t 115 range tomorrow! The hottest days
we have had yet. Sunday will bring some showers and storms knockibg
the temps back a bit.
Temps Monday through Wednesday next week will just be in the upper 80s
north while central and southern areas still remain within a few
degree of 95. After Sunday the next chance of rain will be next
Thursday. I do wonder if the remnants and moisture will fuel some more
chances of rain next week. We will see.
Bonnie is moving rapidly to the NW and will strike Floriday later
today. Winds remain near 40 mph. Bonnie may become a depression over
FL and then restrebgthen in the Gulf before maybe hitting Louisiana as
a strong tropical storm, or, at most, a minimal hurricane.
We will see! Stay cool!

MOTS - More of the same
Looks like the wave near the Dominican Republic could become Bonnie and pose a threat to Florida, but this morning it is looking less impressive on Satellite but more impressive on models. Recon and NOAA flights scheduled for today.
All for now.

Relentless 90s!NC likely to see more rains Today|Tomorrow more chances area wide.
Will the heat let up? There are some signs of a heat re-positioning in the US. The heat could retrograde westward and make the upper plains. We are at least 7 to 10 days before that would happen.
The tropics remain somewhat unfavorable for tropical development. This could or will change in August but there will be a lot of moisture down in the Caribbean and we could see some development down there this week, but the systems still have some turbulent upper air patterns.

Warmer air - but much less humid - Week coming of typical summer weather storms and warmth
Tropics are very quiet for now and look that way for the near future. We are behind what was going to occur in 2005 when Emily was born the day previous and she became a Category 5. That year was so intense!

All for now!
Rain is coming but not too much
some isolated Severe and locally heavy rains overnight and tomorrow
morning. Cooler tomorrow and a return to 90s Sunday.

SOOOO HOT!
At one point Frederick County Maryland was reporting 106! INSANE. Some relief (low 90s instead of upper 90s and 100s) will come Thursday and through the weekend.
STAY COOL - STAY HYDRATED - STAY INDOORS if you can!
All for now!
Dangerously HOT! An unexpected cool down!
The tropics were busy the last few days. It looked like Bonnie had formed just as a Low headed into Louisiana! The disturbance over the Southwestern Caribbean still could become a Depression.
All for now! STAY COOL!

HAPPY FOURTH!Hotter today!MUCH HOTTER tomorrow! More tropical stuff
The Tropics have another Invest that came to light last evening. I think the low in the Gulf is a done deal and will head onto shore later today. The System in the lower Caribbean needs some watching and just may be the next system to threaten Mexico or Texas! Some models do show it strengthening, but it will take some time to get a true sense of what it will do. I am suspecting it will make it to Tropical Depression status.

Did you enjoy the break from the heat? It is OVER! 100+ degrees for 5 straight days is possible
We will be a HOT, and I mean HOT! 100 degrees is possible for 5 days in many locations starting Monday! I see no rain and now parts of the region have hit moderate drought status.
After Hurricane Alex, which was one of the strongest June Hurricanes on record (it had a pressure of 947 MB) and if it had time it would have probably become Major, we now have a disturbance in the Gulf that we should watch, and a wave is about to come off Africa
Please be careful tomorrow as we will have low humidity and the sun angle would mean a good chance of Burning as the IV Index is very high at 9!
