12/12 VA/MD/DC Weather Outlook

Far Western Slopes and Western Maryland (westward facing slopes) will see Lake effect continue through Tuesday Morning. Some Flakes possible this morning in some places east of the mountains, but doubt it. Cold Arctic Air This week. New Arctic Air possible after the 20th and could be ushered in by a New winter storm threat which has now appeared on the models! I will watch and see!

Summary:

Cold Air Advection will continue today with temps possibly falling as the day goes on. VERY cold temperatures Tuesday into Wednesday. With the cold air, western slopes will continue to get snow showers. Dry conditions this week, and now something to watch around the 20th as the European models now show a potential east coast storm! Much to watch now!

Monday: SW: 45-55 SE: 45-55 N: 40-50

Partly to mostly cloudy, windy, and much cooler. Highs will struggle out of the 40Â’s, and 30Â’s in the mountains. Lake effect still occurring.

Tuesday: SW: 40-50 SE: 40-50 N: 30-40

Very cold nights and very cool day.

Wednesday: SW: 40-50 SE: 40-50 N: 30-40

Sunny and cold

Thursday: SW: 45-55 SE: 45-55 N: 40-50

Slight Moderation to normal temperatures. Some increasing cloudiness

Friday: SW: 45-55 SE: 45-55 N: 40-50

Cloudy.. temps a but colder.

Long Term:

From Yesterday! Seasonally cold with temperatures in the 40s in many areas with some 50s in the south. Climatologically conditions have set up that do not favor winter storms! Again, I apologize! Very long term does show some potential changes in this after the 20th. This now looks interesting with the new European Models! Stay tuned!

All for now!
