7/13 DC/MD/VA Weather Outlook

Just downright Humid! Quite a bit of lightning rich storms fired in southeastern areas last night. Today looks pretty good for scattered showers and storms. Highs will be a bit cooler, but, the incredibly humid conditions will make it feel just as warm as ever. Steamy conditions should continue through the weekend. The coolest day of the week should be Thursday in the north especially, otherwise, expect temps within a few degrees of 90. Emily will have some interference with the north coast of South America. Tropics could get busier with 2 waves after Emily!

Summary:  very heavy rain laden storms today and tomorrow with a chance for isolated severe. Other factor could be very lightning rich storms as were experienced last night in areas. In general, just warm and steamy weather until Saturday when we will turn hot and steamy. Thunderstorm threats more numerous tomorrow and then just scattered afternoon and evening after that until at least Tuesday of next week!

Tropics: Emily has pulsed through better and then not so good looking cycles! South America should really hold down her potential, though the Carribean’s very warm temps could set her on her way to Hurricane strength. She is looking like a lower Gulf or Texas threat now! Still a ways away and much time. See the tropical weather center and visit her thread at http://www.midatlanticweather.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=166  Would love your comments. Record year continues as we now have 5 storms the earliest ever for the Atlantic!

After Emily I see another strong wave not too far away from her and then a pretty strong wave came off of Africa this morning! East Atlantic Satellite http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT/EATL/IR4/20.jpg
