7/18 DC/MD/VA Weather outlook

“Triple H” weather continues! Heat and humidity driven storms will be possible again today. There is a better chance tomorrow with a weak frontal boundary. The boundary could knock the dewpoints down a bit making it a bit more bearable humidity wise on Wednesday and Thursday. Hot conditions all week. 90-95 seems typical. There is a serious threat of upper 90s to near 100 temps next Monday timeframe! Emily was likely a Cat 5 Saturday night. The Yucatan is getting her effects today and she will emerge in the Southern Gulf, strengthen a bit, then hit Mexico. Tropics are somewhat calmer after Emily though a wave in the Western Atlantic bears some watching.

Summary:  Hot! Please stay cool. I have to plug the air condition company that helped me on a whim on the July 4th weekend because I have enjoyed the Air Condition so much. The name is Comfort Control Heating and Air Conditioning out of Herndon, VA ! 703-464-7430 comfortcontrolva@aol.com . Seriously, Rick is very helpful. See all the praise in this thread from my homeowner’s association’s web site forum http://www.cascadesva.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=16;t=000197. Enough about the indoor weather. The outdoor weather is incredibly hot! The Softball PONY league championship is this week and they are just roasting out there ( http://www.pony.org/home/default.asp )! Remember, water is the best thing for you!! Soda only dehydrates you more! Speaking of Soda, just heard the news report that 15% of teenager’s daily diet is soda! Had to look up Coca Cola (My favorite coke) history since summer and coke go together for me! Found this fun little site! http://members.lycos.co.uk/thomassheils/secret.htm

OK, seriously, Drier air works in on Wednesday after some storm Tuesday. The air is hot enough for at least a chance of storms daily, though Wednesday and Thursday will have less of a chance than tomorrow. A serious heat wave could hit next Monday! Please stay alert and check on your elderly friends

Tropics: Emily has seen her peak. She was beautiful! See her in her prime in this picture: http://www.fototime.com/9843DC5E90F8226/orig.jpg . See the tropical weather center and visit her thread at http://www.midatlanticweather.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=166  Would love your comments. Record year continues as we now have 5 storms the earliest ever for the Atlantic!  Emily’s low pressure of 929 was a record for a July hurricane!

After Emily I see another wave, but not sure of its ability to overcome the wind shear that has plagued its development!

Thanks to all who continue to post to the Forum. Our community has grown to 20 members. Hoping to keep it hopping with Emily! Please join those who have so we can get good feedback and regional coverage. http://www.midatlanticweather.com/bb/
