11/02 DC,MD,VA, Weather Outlook

WEATHER TO BE GREAT FOR VOTING SO PLEASE DO! TEMPERATURES WILL HAVE THEIR LAST WARM READING FOR A WHILE! RAIN NOW LOOKING MORE LIKELY WEDNESDAY NIGHT INTO THURSDAY INSTEAD OF WEDNESDAY. COOL CONDITIONS THROUGH THE WEEKEND WILL LIKLEY STOP THE GROWING SEASON FOR MANY AREAS OF THE IMMEDIATE PIEDMONT AND MOUNTAINS! SUMMARY: What can you say? Beautiful weather today for our region of the country means the polling places will not be wet or cold (cool this morning)! Enjoy this last warm day of the week! Temps will head cooler than normal Thursday and Friday, and we get a bit of reinforcement of cool air early next week, but we seem to favor more normal temps in the long run. ELECTION DAY: Warm 70s and 80s will be the nature of the day with an increase in clouds. Later tonight some light showers are possible. WEDNESDAY: Cooler temps will prevail but really seasonal to even slightly above in the southern regions, with highs upper 50s to mid 60s. Some rain showers are possible, especially later in the day in the west. THURSDAY: Much Cooler statewide. A bout of morning rain and showers possible through the day but decreasing as the day progresses. Temps 50s to about 60 most areas, BELOW NORMAL. FRIDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND: Cooler conditions, which actually will be repeated through the weekend! Highs mainly 50s (40s in some mountainous areas!) and night time lows will be below freezing in many areas in the piedmont and mountains. LONG TERM: We start off cool and head towards seasonal temps. WHAT ABOUT THE WINTER: I am saying we will see above normal snow, but not in an ongoing snowy pattern. A weak El Nino has me feeling concerned of a good phasing event sometime during what I call peak storm season…Jan 15 to Feb 15. Otherwise, we will be at or just below normal seasonal temps and may have long dry spells between our precip events. The exception will be southern VA, where more precip, more often will occur. I will have a scoring table soon on every Winter Weather Outlook I have read soon as well as links to them.
